To Delete a User

Users who have performed certain system actions will not be able to be deleted. This constraint is in place so the audit information can be retained. In order to prevent these users from logging in, you can deactivate the user rather than deleting them.

To delete a user, navigate to the specific user page by clicking on the username link. Then, click the

Delete button.

Using LDAP / Active Directory

If the irCatalog Service had been configured to use LDAP, then users can be added from an Active Directory search or will be automatically created upon login if they are members of an Active Directory group that has been added to irCatalog.

To Add an AD User

Click on the Add button in the Users module.

By default, all Active Directory users will be displayed in alphabetical order. You can filter the list by entering a Username and clicking the magnifying glass.

Wild card searches for users can be entered in the text box. By default a "Starts With" search will be performed.

Select a user by clicking the associated row and click Next.

Select AD User.png

Select the permissions to apply to the user and click Add User.

AD Users may also be part of groups that have been added to irCatalog. In this case, they will inherit the permissions from any associated irCatalog groups, and you can also apply individual permissions to the user. You can see the detail of derived vs. individual permissions and any associated groups on the individual user page.

Using Centralized Authentication

If the irCatalog Service has been configured to use Centralized Authentication, then users must exist in both your catalog and your Microsoft Azure Active Directory or Auth0 instance with the same email address. Your initial user will be created during the installation process. See "InRuleInstallHelp" for more information on installing InRule with Centralized Authentication.

Users can be added, modified and deleted by following the Using irCatalog User Admistration (No LDAP) steps listed above.
