Reporting

irAuthor allows you to report on all of the elements that define a rule application. A Rule Application Detail Report, a Vocabulary Report, and a Rule Application Difference Report are available through the irAuthor Home Tab. Additional reports can easily be created and customized using XSLT.

Rule Application Detail Report

The rule application Detail Report lists all entities, fields, calculations, rules, notifications, and actions that define the rule application. The report is grouped by Entity and has an index of Entity hyperlinks for ease of navigation.

Entities
Lists all Entities defined in the rule application.

Fields Calculations Rules Notifications Actions
List all fields, calculations, rules, notifications, and actions for each Entity.

Notes:

• Reusable "Entity scope" Notifications defined in the irAuthor Notifications folder show under Notifications, while any "Fire Notification" actions show under Actions.
• All actions, whether defined in the irAuthor actions folder or within a rule set, show under Actions.

Vocabulary Report

The Vocabulary Report lists all configured rule templates and classifications in the rule application.

Difference Report

The Difference Report compares different revisions of the same rule application and displays the differences between the revisions. To compare the revisions, select the Difference button in the Reports group on the ribbon.

The Difference Report was not designed to compare entirely different rule applications. It uses an underlying unique identifier for each rule element to do the comparison and is, therefore, intended only to compare different revisions of the same rule application.

This button brings up the Show Differences window, where you can select the rule applications to compare from and compare to.

When selecting the compare from and compare to rule applications, you have these choices.

• From file - enter the path to the rule application file, or click the ellipsis button for an Open dialog
• From catalog - select a specific rule application version from the catalog
• Currently loaded rule application - use the rule application that is currently open in irAuthor.

Difference Report

The completed report is displayed in irAuthor.

You can view the report in irAuthor or click Open in browser to see the report in your browser.
