Changes in the Sign in Experience

  • Updated

InRule Process Automation is improving the sign-in experience for all users during Spring 2025.

New Sign-in page

The following changes will be made to improve the functionality and appearance of the Sign-in page.

  • New layout and user interface
To improve the sign-in experience, we are changing the layout and colors of the sign-in page. The new page has the same banner users see once they are signed in, making the transition from the sign-in page to the landing page in IPA smoother.
  • Responsiveness
The new Sign-in page is responsive, making it easier to sign-in from mobile devices.
  • Password complexity
We are making our password policy stricter to ensure the data stored within IPA is well protected. All users who sign in via password will be requested to reset their password during 2025. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, with upper and lower case letters, special characters, and numbers.
  • Unified URL
The password sign-in method and SSO sign-in method previously had separate URLs. With the new page, the same URL is used for both methods.

Signing in via SSO

These changes will also affect the SSO sign-in experience in order to make the sign-in experience as smooth as possible.

  • Guided sign-in for quicker access
Users who should sign in via SSO will no longer see other sign in options, for example, an option to sign in via username and password. We have implemented an “identifier first” approach, whereby we first check if the user belongs to an SSO and redirect them immediately. This will make it quicker for users to sign in, and also ensure that they use the correct sign-in method
  • The SSO override has moved
Some organizations need users to be able to sign in to IPA even though they are not part of the AD, for example, consultants or suppliers. This used to be a configuration option when adding the IdP configuration to IPA, and affected all users. This has now moved, and SSO override will now be configured on the user level on the Space Administration page or the Contract Administration page.

New look, same functionality

While the look and feel will be a change for users, the functionality will mostly remain the same. Users will continue to be able to sign in just as before, and the Remember me and reset password functionalities will still be available.
