How Do I Add a Then Statement to a Conditional Rule?

  • Updated

This feature is only available in the current version of Author Studio released in the fall of 2023. If you have not updated to the newest version of the product, see our Archived Author Studio Documentation here.

You can add a Then statement to a conditional rule by adding a child rule from the Rule Navigator.

To add a child rule, click on the more menu (1) of the IF row in the Rule Navigator and then select Add child rule (2). Here you can choose the type of rule you will add.

This feature functions the same when adding Then to Else and Else If.

To add a new Action to your ELSE click on the more menu (1) of the ELSE row in the Rule Navigator and select Add child rule (2). Here you can choose the type of rule you will add.

The child rules are visible under the parent rules in the Rule Navigator, you can click on the expander arrow to expand the conditional rule and view its child rules or you can click on the expand all symbol to expand all of the rules in the rule set at once. Clicking on the collapse all symbol will hide all of the child rules in the rule set.
