Conditional Rule

This feature is only available in the current version of Author Studio released in the fall of 2023. If you have not updated to the newest version of the product, see our Archived Author Studio Documentation here.

To add an If Then or If Then Else rule in Author Studio, Select Conditional Rule.

In Author Studio, the Conditional Rule is a combination of If Then and If Then Else. 

Add a "then statement" by adding a child rule from the Rule Navigator.

Click on the more menu (1) of the IF row in the rule navigator and then select Add child rule (2). Here you can choose the type of rule you will add. 

You can start writing your rule as an If Then and if you decide to add an Else, Click on the more menu (1) of the IF row in the rule navigator and then select Add ELSE IF or ADD ELSE (2). 

To add a new Action to your ELSE click on the more menu (1) of the ELSE row in the rule navigator and select Add child rule (2). Here you can choose the type of rule you will add.
